Meet our Specialist Leaders in Education
Area of Specialism: Literacy, Numeracy, Quality of Teaching, Behaviour and Discipline
As a Key Stage 2 Leader, Year 6 teacher and Literacy and Numeracy Subject Leader at Our Lady and St Patrick's I have helped our Cumbrian primary school achieve its 'Outstanding' status. I have also worked for many years creating, improving and marking Year 6 SATs at a national level.
Daily within the classroom, I create innovative learning opportunities for children, which have contributed significantly to high, and consistently improving, standards.
Additionally, I support staff to help them identify any barriers to learning, and together we develop a range of inventive, personal and sometimes unconventional solutions to improve each unique situation.
Area of Specialism: SEN
I am a Senior Leader at Clayton Brook Primary School with 15 years SENCo experience.
I worked in mainstream as a class teacher and prior to this at a Pupil Referral Unit for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
My current role is Inclusion Manager with responsibility for managing a team of specialist teaching assistants and monitoring pupil progress for children with additional educational need. I am also responsible for behaviour management across school.
I recently held 2 'Masterclasses' for LEA to showcase our provision to approximately 40 other schools.
As an SLE I am looking forward to sharing good practice across a range of establishments.
Area of Specialism: EYFS, Art & Design, RE
With over 20 years teaching experience in Catholic primary schools across Lancaster Diocese, I'm currently EYFS and KS1 leader and subject leader for RE and Art & Design at SS Mary & Michael Catholic Primary School, Garstang. I enjoy being part of a team, supporting and mentoring colleagues, whilst contributing to the work of the SLT.
I am passionate about Early Years teaching and learning; last year we were awarded the Early Years Quality Mark for excellence in EYFS. I love the spontaneity, creativity and inquisitiveness of young learners and strive to promote engaging and inspirational learning opportunities that encourage independent skills and foster a love of learning.
