New, from October you can also apply for primary teacher training with the Catholic Teaching Alliance in East Lancashire for a 2023 start date
For every level of teacher training, Early Primary, Primary, Secondary or Secondary with post 16, look no further than the Catholic Teaching Alliance. There are 4 teacher training hubs across Lancashire.

Post 16 (14-19yrs)
The Preston based Catholic Teaching Alliance (CTA) is a partnership of over 60 Catholic primary and secondary schools and post-16 colleges with a shared vision and commitment to providing first class Initial Teacher Training (ITT).

    Early Primary (3-7 yrs) PGCE with QTS course   
    General Primary (5-11 yrs) PGCE with QTS course
    Secondary (11-16 yrs) PGCE with QTS courses   
    Post 16 (14-19 yrs) PGCE with QTS courses


The Catholic Teaching Alliance is committed to working collaboratively with all of our partners in order to achieve our vision and to build a reputation as an outstanding provider.

The schools that support the School Direct programme share our vision and commitment.  In addition to equipping trainees with the skills and knowledge required to teach their subject, we aim to provide them with the opportunity to appreciate the distinct nature of working as part of a Catholic community.
