The School Direct train to teach course is a 1 year full-time route into teaching delivered in partnership with the University of Cumbria. The majority of time on our PGCE courses is spent on placement in our alliance schools.

What are the entry requirements? What places are available with the CTA (North)? What is the deadline for applications? We will accept applications for our teacher training courses up until the course is closed or mid-July. Contact us to see how many places are available in your subject. What about the Literacy and Numeracy Skills Tests for teachers? For courses starting after April 2020, candidates no longer need to take professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy before beginning teacher training. How do I get some school experience?
